We have a wonderful story to tell.

I have had the honor to be on the Germantown School Board for 11 years and to be the Board President for 9 of those years. I am proud for what has been accomplished over the past 11 years. 

The Germantown School District continues to be a school district that is a leader academically in the region, the state and in the nation. 

I am pleased to say that your school district is exceeding expectations in the education of your children. Evidence of this includes:  

• The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) released the updated school report card in November 2021, and we scored 79.2 or Exceeds Expectations. We did extremely well, and this continues to be a key metric for us and reaffirms that we have the right tools in place that create opportunities for a high level of learning to occur;
• Our ACT scores continue to be high and well above both state and national averages;
• Our kids are engaged both inside and outside the classroom with 79% of all high school students participating in extracurricular academic, arts, music and athletic activities.  The 79% figure is outstanding when you benchmark that with the State average of 35%; and,
• We also continue to have high graduation rates with 98% of our seniors graduating this past year. 

To expand learning opportunities, we are launching 4K and a virtual charter school.

We have invested over $100M in our schools via Act 32, the $84M referendum and monies be taken out of fund balance to pay for school expansion at Rockfield and Amy Belle.  

In addition, we spent $1.2M to pay for state-of-the-art equipment for our new Tech Center along with $330K for safety/security enhancements. 

With these much-needed improvements we are now a destination school district with more and more residential and commercial developments occurring.  

The saying, 'build it and they will come' certainly holds true here.

Since February of 2020, we have navigated the Covid-19 Pandemic and have been leaders and not followers.  Outside of the Governor's overreach by closing in person learning and going virtual, we have kept our schools operational via in person learning along with making masks optional, and not mandating vaccines.
